Education & Training

Binita, the illustrious daughter of Deo Raj Puri and Sangita Puri, commenced her remarkable journey in taekwondo at the tender age of 6 in 1995. Guided by the unwavering support of her father, she not only became a national and international player but also earned recognition as a national referee. Throughout her taekwondo odyssey, her family’s steadfast encouragement became the driving force behind her numerous accolades.

A devoted contributor to her community, Binita embarked on teaching martial arts and self-defense at the remarkably young age of 13. In 2007, she entered a new phase of life by marrying Prakash Rai and joyfully welcomed a son in 2010. Though faced with initial challenges upon relocating to Illinois in 2011, she persevered and, in 2012, added a daughter to her growing family.

Fueled by her passion for taekwondo, Binita assumed the role of an instructor in 2015 at a prominent taekwondo center in Illinois. Simultaneously, she pursued her education at the College of Dupage and actively participated in aiding her community through World Relief in Illinois.

Upon moving to Pennsylvania in 2020, Binita lent her expertise to various taekwondo centers as a volunteer. In 2023, she realized her lifelong dream by founding the United Everest Taekwondo Academy. Under her guidance, students achieved victory in numerous local and national tournaments, garnering multiple best referee awards.

Binita’s remarkable journey is a testament to her resilience, community spirit, and unwavering commitment to empowering the next generation of taekwondo enthusiasts.
